Beaded Flowers: a snowdrop, performed in the parallel weaving technique
Before you start, get acquainted with the technique of parallel weaving with the beads. For a small bouquet of snowdrops, you will need to weave 5-7 flowers.
We are going to need:
Beads of white, blue, lilac, green, and yellow colors.
The white, blue or lilac beads are perfect for the petals of the snowdrops. For a calyx lobe and the snowdrop’s leaves, we will need green beads. Additionally, we are going to need just a little bit of yellow beads to imitate the stamens of the beaded flowers .

The patterns and descriptions of the flower parts woven from the beads
Beaded flowers resemble the real ones in structure. A snowdrop consists of 4 petals. The color of the petals is white, and blue or lilac for the base of the petal 3 rows are woven from the green beads.
For 1 petal we will need a wire 24 inches long, as well as 55 beads of white color and 4 beads of green color. The petals are formed in the technique of parallel bead weaving. The petals are woven consecutively after each other. Every petal is woven separately at first, and then attached to the previous one at the base.
Start weaving from the top part of the petal of a snowdrop. The scheme of the snowdrop from the beads: 1-2-3-3-5-5-6-7-6-5-5-4-3-2-1-1. From the 8th row, where there are 7 beads, start attaching the petal to the previous one. The last 3 rows (2-1-1) are woven from the green beads.
The snowdrop’s core is made from 4 stamens using the loop technique of bead weaving. We are going to need a wire 8 inches long, as well as 44 beads of white color and 8 beads of yellow color. String them on the wire in turn: 5 white beads, 1 yellow, 1 white, 1 yellow, 5 white ones. Make a loop. So, for 1 flower, we are going to need 4 of these loops made from the beads.
For one flower, we need to weave 2 small leaves from the green beads. The leaves are woven in the technique of parallel weaving. To weave a small leaf for a flower from the beads, we need a wire 24 inches long and 95 green beads. The scheme of weaving a small leaf for a snowdrop from the beads: 1-2-3-4-5 (make 15 rows)- 4-3-2-1.
For one flower, we will weave 1 big leaf of a snowdrop. The leaf will consist of 2 parts in order to create an even greater resemblance with a natural leaf of a snowdrop. Take a wire 32 in long. The scheme of the first part: 1(2 rows)- 2 (2 rows)- 3 (2 rows)- 4(18 rows)- 3 (2 rows)- 2 (2 rows)- 1(2 rows). The other part is woven according to the same formula, however the process of weaving it is attached row into row to the first part.
Putting together a snowdrop from the beads
Let’s put together our snowdrop frombeads. Insert the core into the flower cup. Intertwine the wires from the flower parts. Fix the small leaves and then the large leaf. Coat the flower’s stem with the glue. Carefully wrap the stem with the ribbon or green threads.
Make 5-7 flowers from the beads this way. Gather them into a bouquet.Beaded flowersmay be placed into a vase or “planted” into a pot. To plant flowers into the pot, we will need the following materials: alabaster with glue and a small pot. Make loops at the ends of the flower stems. Prepare a blend of alabaster and glue. Pour the blend into the pot. Insert our bouquet into the pot, and put fake moss on top. Wait till it dries completely. Now, ourbeaded flowers look amazing.
