How to weave friendship bracelets general methods

Friendship bracelets start and end usually with thread braids. They are meant for tying a friendship bracelet on the hand. It is also possible to weave a loop in the beginning of the work and a lace braid at the end.

There are pair threads and single ones. If there is an even number of threads in the pattern, thread of one color can be put together and we will get 2 threads of the same color. For example, if our friendship bracelet consists of 6 threads (2 red, 2 white and 2 yellow ones), we take only 1 long thread of red color, 1 white and 1 yellow and put them together to get 6 threads as a result. For single row, 1 thread is used.

All the knots are woven out of 2 threads. One thread is a working thread; another is the base, on which a knot is made. The color of the knot is always the same as the color of the working thread. If you are using thin threads for weaving, you need to make a double knot, i.e. to repeat the necessary knot 2 times of the basic thread.

Leave some distance at the edge for the braid and tie together all the threads with a double knot. Fix the knot with a pin to any base (a pad or a trouser leg). Spread all the threads according to the scheme.

Finishing the work. After the main design of the friendship bracelet is woven, finish the work with the braids at both sides. If the threads were pair ones and put together, the created loop needs to be cut.
