Table Center from Bruges lace

Bruges lace is interesting style of crochet. You can do a nice table center in this crochet technique.


What do you need?

45 g of crochet yarn no. 40; crochet hook no. 1.00 (English no 5).

The table center from Bruges lace 48 cm X 52 cm (approx. 18 3/4 X 20 1/2 inches).

How to croche?

Make 1 motif A and 6 motifs B, beginning with the circular band around the 8 motifs.

Band Motif B:

1st row. Make 1 chain with a base of 9 chains, 1 picot of 4 stiches an arc of 12 stiches. *Turn and hook a small shell (1 double crochet, 3 chains, 1 double crochet) in the 10th stitches counted from the hook, make 4 chains, 1 picot and 2 chains. Continue on the base chain with a double crochet, 1 chain, 1 double crochet, 1 chain, 1 double crochet hooked In the 5 first stitches of the base chain, as shown on the drawing.

2nd row: Turn with 5 chains, make 3 double crochets separated by 1 chain, 4 chains, 1 picot, 2 chains, 1 large shell (3 triple crochets, 2 chains, 3 triple crochets) 9 chains*. Always repeat from * to * until obtaining 48 rows, then close; the band in a ring. The bands are joined with sleep stitches hooked in 3 places.

Center B:

Begin with 1 round of 6 ch.

1st round: 12 times: * 2 double triple crochets joined together 5 chains *. Replace the the 1 double triple crochet with 5 chains, and the last are with 2 chains, 1 double crochet.

2nd round: 12 times: *1sc, 6 chains *, but replace the last arc with 1ch, 1 double triple crochet. 3rd round: 12 times: *3 double crochets, 3 chains, I picot, 4 chains, 1 sleep stitch in 1 arc of the circular band. 4 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 3 double crochets, 1 chains, 1 picot, 1 chain*.

Band Motif A:

After joining the 6 motifs B according to the drawing, begin the band A on a chain with 12 chains.

1st row: Make an arc of 5 stitches, then on the base chain make 3 times: *1 double crochet, 1 chain*: add 1 more ch and repeat 3 times: *1 triple crochet, 1ch*. Add 3 chains, for the arc, hook 1sleep stitch in band B, make 4 chains. Continue according to the drawing for 48 rows, then close the band in a ring.

Center A:

1st - 2nd round: As for center B. 3rd round: 12 times: *3 double crochet, 3 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 1 picot, 2 chains, 1 sleep stitch in the band. 2 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 3 double crochets, 1 chains, 1 picot, 1 chain*.

Border: Band: Make a base chain with 12 chains.

1st row: 9 chains, 3 triple crochets separated by 1 chain, 2 chains, 3 triple crochets separated by 1 chain.

2nd row: 4 chains, I sleep stitch in an arc of the B motif, 4 chains, then double crochet and chain as for 1st row.

Lace: In each are on the exterior, make 3 tr, 2 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 1 picot, 7 chains, 1 picot, 3 chains, 1 picot, 2 chains, 3 triple crochets, 1 chain, 1 picot, 1 chain.

Filling: Make a chain, wrap yarn around hook 4 (3) times, hook in the arc according to the drawing to make 1 triple triple crochets ( double triple crochets) which is incomplete (leave 2 loops on the hook): thus make 6 (5) other multiple double crochet which are incom­plete (and token) at once: close the ring with 1 sleep stitch.
